VOS Large Appliance Pickup Program
April 6-8 and 13-15, 2010

The curbside pick up for large appliances will be for two weeks only. This program will be conducted from April 6, 2010 until April 15, 2010.

A sticker must be purchased from the Village Clerk’s Office for each appliance to be picked up. Office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Program Description:

1. Items covered by the program will be collected from residents on their regular trash collection day during the first two full weeks of April. Items must be placed at the curb no later than 7:00 A.M. on the day of collection.
2. To be collected, each item must have the appropriate large item sticker affixed to it. The sticker must face the street and be in plain view.
3. Items with a potential entrapment hazard such as refrigerators and freezers must have their doors removed.
4. Items not showing an appropriate sticker will be labeled so with an informational sticker, as will items not covered by the program.

Items Covered Under the Program:

(Non Freon) - Washers, dryers, stoves, hot water tanks, dishwashers, and gas grills.
(Freon) - Air conditioners, refrigerators freezers and dehumidifiers.
(Please remove all latches and doors that can trap children).

Items not Covered by the Program:

Furnaces, counter top appliances, LP tanks are not covered. Questions regarding whether an item is covered should be directed to the Department of Public Works 393-2159.

Stickers and Fees:

Pink- $5.00: Non-Freon items not requiring a disposal cost such as washing machines.

Yellow- $25.00 ($5.00 plus the current Freon recovery charge of $20.00): Items requiring a refrigerant recovery fee such as refrigerators.
