BEACH HOURS

Mon. - Sun. - Noon to 6:00 p.m.

June 30th thru August 22nd
Mon. - Sun. - 12:00p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

August 23rd thru August 24th
Sat. - Sun. - 12:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

August 25th, Beach Closed for Season

Dates and Times are subject to change depending upon
weather conditions and availability of Staff.


I.D. CARDS

Village of Scotia and Town of Glenville residents age ten and older must provide proof of residency (a resident identification card) in order to gain admittance to the beach free of charge. Residents who need to acquire a identification card must provide proof of residency, or be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can provide proof of residency. Their is a five (5) dollar administrative fee for a resident picture I.D. card which is valid for a three (3) year period.

All children ages nine and younger must  be continuously attended by an adult (ON THE BEACH PROPER) in order to gain admittance to and remain on the beach. This is a parent responsibility NOT THE LIFEGUARDS.

SWIMMING LESSONS

Classes will be offered in water adjustment, and levels I through VI. There will be two three-week sessions. All classes will be scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and noon, Monday thru Friday. each class will last approximately 20 minutes. Your class time will be determined at registration. All children must be registered prior to attending classes.

Session #1 - June 30th thru July 18th
Session #2 - July 28th thru August 15th

Monday, June 9th - 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 10th - 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday, June 13th - 9:00 a.m. to noon
Saturday, June 14th - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

 

Recreation Program Begins June 30th

The Village of Scotia Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a DROP-IN summer recreation program. The Retreat Building will be open for activities June 30th thru August 22nd, Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

To be in compliance with state regulations, we cannot hold a formal registration. However, we strongly request children check in when they arrive at the park, and check out before leaving.

We must emphasize the fact that our program is a DROP-IN-PROGRAM.

This means children may come and go as they please.

We are not a day camp or a day care center.

Children may take part in any of a number of activities that will be designed to accommodate a variety of ages and interests. Activities will be organized on a daily basis and may vary from day to day.

 

TENNIS LESSONS

The Schenectady County Tennis Association in cooperation with "15 LOVE" will present a tennis instructional camp for youngsters ages 7 to 15. The camp will offer three hours of daily instruction. Children may sign up for week(s) that is appropriate for their age level.

Dates:  weekly sessions from June 30th to August 7th (six weeks)
Days and times: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to noon (Friday rain date)
Fee: $35 per session

  • Session 2 ..........July 7 to July 10 ..........Ages 11 to 15
  • Session 3 ..........July 14 to July 17 ..........Ages 7 to 10
  • Session 4 ..........July 21 to July 24 ..........Ages 11 to 15
  • Session 5 ..........July 28 to July 31 ..........Ages 7 to 10
  • Session 6 ..........August 4 to August 7 ..........Ages 11 to 15

DOUG O'BREY BASEBALL SCHOOLS INC.

For boys and girls ages 8 to 16
Grouped according to age, enrollment is limited to ensure individualized instruction.
Hours are from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Fee: $150. There is a $10 discount if registered by May 25th. Ask about special family rates and multiple week rates.
