Neighborhood Environmental Coalition

Mission Statement:   To keep the streets and sidewalks of Scotia free of litter by walking the streets as a group to collect and properly dispose of it. Our goal is to lead by example, inspire more people to join us, and raise the awareness of residents and business owners that keeping Scotia clean is everyone's responsibility. Members of N.E.C. value Scotia's long-standing tradition of being a fantastic place to live and in which to do business, and we are committed to carry on this tradition. N.E.C. volunteers have a deep-seated commitment to our environment; a full understanding of the negative impact litter has on it, and place a high priority on reusing, reducing, and recycling. Our focus is on the future, and the world that we will leave behind for our children.

We meet on Mondays at 6:30. The location of meeting places will change weekly. In the months of July and August we will meet everyother Monday inless the streets are very bad. If you would like to be on our email list and come help support our efforts please contact Kristin at Kmorotta@nycap.rr.com.
